3rd-4th July 2025: Tools and methods for biorefinery design and evaluation (in-person training)

3rd-4th July 2025 9am start (CEST) – full program below

Join our practical training school organized by the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) and the Agricultural Cooperatives Federation of Catalonia (FCAC), under the Horizon Europe project AGRILOOP.

You’ll actively work through hands-on sessions using OUTDOOR, a user-friendly software tool (Python-based with a graphical interface) for early-stage biorefinery design. Collaborate in teams to solve and present real-world case studies, gaining a practical introduction to technical design and environmental assessment in biorefinery development.

The program also includes expert talks and discussions on key challenges in agrifood waste and biomass valorization, offering a structured approach to decision-making in biorefinery design.

Designed for researchers and professionals, this is your opportunity to directly engage with the tools and methods shaping the future of biorefineries. No prior experience on Python is required, although some programming experience would be an advantage. A certificate of attendance will be delivered to all participants

How to attend

The event is limited to 25 PLACES – to apply for a place, submit a motivation letter that outlines why you would like to attend.
This must be sent to miguel.mauricio@usc.es by the 16th May.
